AllyKatt's Dawn Pages
Cry for Dawn was just the beginning.... Joseph Michael Linsner {Joe, to his friends, JML to his fans} first published his character Dawn on the cover of 1989's "Cry for Dawn - Vol. 1." The character had existed in his mind and sketchbooks since 1987, and didn't realize her full potential until "Cry for Dawn - Vol. 3," when Linsner realized she was the perfect mate for his character Death.
9 issues of "Cry for Dawn," 6 of "Crypt of Dawn," 6 of the "Dawn: Lucifer's Halo" series, 4 of "Dawn: Return of the Goddess," along with other books and guest appearances later ... and Dawn is practically a household name.
From personal experience at goth clubs and comic book/anime conventions, I can attest that she is recognizable just about anywhere you go surrounded by people who read comics. All you need is red hair and three tears, or a sexy outfit.
Dawn represents many things to many people, from the goddess of birth and rebirth to the beautiful girl who got away. To me she represents strength and grace, class with just enough sex appeal to make her ideal. She is something many strive to be or to be with, and in all things she is Beauty.
The following galleries are images from my collection, scanned in from items I have amassed over the last several years. Enjoy the images. I attribute ALL of these works to JML, and copyright information on each gallery is his information. If these galleries are in violation of any laws, or offend JML in any way, I will remove them at once upon official notification. The last thing I would ever want to do is to offend the man who has created this ideal.
